Wicked Tutorial

As requested, a tutorial for this icon beneath the cut:

First we have our base.

Looks good, right? Wrong. Crop it down and resize it to 100x100.

Depending on your image, you may want to sharpen it (Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen). Usually this makes the picture look crisp and clean, but mine's horribly grainy, so I'm not going to.
Now right click on the base layer and duplicate it once. Set the duplicate to Screen, opacity 28 or so.

Flatten the image, and double click on it. Now take the Blur tool and blur the skin so it looks nice and smooth. DO NOT BLUR ANYTHING BUT THE SKIN. I used these settings:

Now we look like this:

Gradient time! For Elphaba's lovely green glow I used this fine gradient here. Stick it in a new layer set on Overlay.

It's #787A30 and #3B7A38, for all you HTML dorks. ^^)
Now we look something like this:

And then we add some text. For this particular icon I used Arial Black, 14 pt and the colour #787A30.

There, now wasn't that ridiculously easy? Feel free to experiment around with it. Any questions or comments are welcome!
